Hospital Scare

This past week was a stressful one in the Virgin household. At 10 weeks old Kyleah was having episodes where she would stop breathing. It was getting progressively worse, to the point that her entire face would actually turn blue. After happening four times in four days I had finally had enough and decided to take her in to see the pediatrician. They ran a few tests and sent us home telling us to monitor her. That evening she had another episode and the doctor decided it would be best to admit her to The Children's Hospital in Providence. It was a weight off my shoulders to have her hooked up to monitors and nurses watching over. I never left her side and Kyleah never lost her smile. They tested her for RSV and Pertussis and started her on an antibiotic just in case it was the latter. The first night was rough, as her oxygen levels dropped and set off the monitors several times. However, after keeping us for two nights the medicine seemed to kick in and do the trick and we were released home. Her RSV test has since come back negative and we are still waiting on the results for the Pertussis. Either way, she has continued on the antibiotic and seems to be feeling much better. We are thankful everything turned out okay.
