Sick Baby
Today i took poor baby Aubrey to the doctor. Kyle has been sick for the past few days and as hard as i tried to keep Aubrey and i from getting it, we still did. Aubrey started showing signs last night and this morning she woke up even worse. The poor thing was coughing, sneezing, had a never-ending runny nose, and wasn't eating well. I worried that she might even have a fever. After my 6 week post-partum appointment with Dr Richey , which went well, i took Aubrey in to LaTouche Pediatrics. At about a month and a half old, she weighed in at 9lbs 8ounces. The nurse said she was running a bit of a fever and her throat was red, but luckily her lungs and ears were clear. It is probably the beginning of something viral. Poor baby!! I know how bad i feel so i know exactly what she is going through. I was told to get some Infant Tylenol and a humidifier and sent on my way. Aubrey has been exceptionally good for how sick she is. She hasn't really been fussy, but rather has been content as long as she is being held or is sleeping. I just hope we both start feeling better soon!!

Half Smile

Before heading over to my parent's house for our regular Sunday dinner i had Aubrey lying on the LoveSac. Hailey was getting very anxious to leave and i told her to go find Aubrey. She immediately headed over to the LoveSac, placed her front paws up on it, and started nudging the baby. She definitely knows who Aubrey is!!
On the drive home in Kyle's truck Aubrey looked so darn cute all buckled into her carseat that i had to get a picture. I caught her in a half smile. Such a cutie!!

Aubrey's First Easter
April 12th, 2009:
This was Aubrey's first Easter. We celebrated at my parent's house. Kyle thought i was crazy, but i couldn't resist making her a basket. She got a stuffed chick, teethers, a binky clip, a musical carseat toy, and eggs filled with candy i knew Kyle would eat. She looked absolutely adorable in her Easter dress. As you can tell by the pictures, she wasn't thrilled about the attention. That evening we enjoyed a wonderful prime rib dinner with my mom, my sister and her fiance', and my younger brother.

Goodbye Hunter

April 11th, 2009:
As much as we loved him, we decided to hand our boy Hunter Grant over to a new home. We weren't looking to get rid of him, but we had noticed that since the arrival of Aubrey he was not getting the attention he needed. I happened to come across an ad on Craigslist looking for a male cocker spaniel between the ages of 1 and 3. Thinking it might be a sign, i contacted the guy. Turns out it was a young couple with another young, playful dog who lived on an acre of land out in Wasilla. After driving out to check out his new place, we decided it couldn't be a more perfect match. Even though i was happy for him, i couldn't hold back my tears. Hunter was a great dog and i wish him a life of happiness with his new family.

A New Addition
Aubrey Lynn blessed us with her arrival at 8:42pm on March 11, 2009. She weighed in at 7lbs 13ounces and was 20.5inches long. She was exactly 1 week before her scheduled c-section and 2 weeks earlier than her actual due date. I like to say she was aiming for her daddy's birthday, but missed it by a day.
It was a normal day at work and i wasn't feeling anything out of the ordinary. I decided to go to my parent's house for dinner. I sat down at the table with my mom and younger brother Trevor. I preceded to tell them how i hadn't slept well the previous night due to contractions, but that i refused to be one of those girls who went to the hospital in false labor. I said i was waiting until my water actually broke. As i stood up to leave the table not 5 minutes later...my water broke!!
On our way to the hospital i tried to get a hold of Kyle since he was still on the slope and was not expected back home for 2 more days. I also contacted my in-laws who immediately started heading into Anchorage from Palmer about an hour away. At this point i was still not experiencing any contractions and i thought i would be admitted for the night and probably have the baby the next day. To my surprise, Dr Richey decided it would be best to take the baby before i went into labor. My mom, my sister and her fiance', my younger brother, and my in-laws were all there for support, however i was really upset Kyle was going to miss it. Needless to say, everything went well with the surgery and Aubrey was born completely healthy. Kyle and my dad made it in from the slope the following day.
